Gi

Yay, it's Gi! And she's standing in front of the ocean or something (cause she's the water planeteer, you know) Actually this started as just a sketch, and I had not really considered a background, but I figured I needed one so this works.

Anyway, I was just doodling in my sketchbook one day, and I thought "hey this picture of Gi isn't half bad" I wanted to practice some techniques so I went ahead and colored it. I decided to try using colored lines for once (instead of black lines, which all my other pics have) I think I like the way it turned out.

Also, I really don't like Gi's bangs in the show (they are normally straight across) I made them choppier/spikier, otherwise I didn't change any of her character design from what it is in the show. Black hair is difficult to color. I learned that from this exercise. I finally decided on minimal highlights, cause the more I tried to add to her hair, the worse it looked.

Well, I think that's it! (and, hey, I drew one of the good guys for once- something must be wrong with me...)

Oh no, wait, one more thing... Anyone know what the symbol on her necklace is supposed to be? I tried searching for various symbols that mean "water" but nothing I came up with looked like this. It could just be some random crap the animators made up. But if anyone knows, please fill me in.
