So I have been wanting to watch the movie Metropolis for some time, and now that I've finally watched it, I am a little obsessed... Anyway, I also felt the need to use my pencils, which I don't do much these days. This is Robot Maria, who normally seemed to have this lop-sided scowl thing going on (I guess to differentiate her from non-robot Maria) I hope I managed to get it looked right, and she doesn't just look deformed...
And I was totally excited to get the last edition with the newly discovered footage last year! I couldn't wait for it to come in so I could watch it. I'm not even normally one to watch lots of movies, but I watch Metropolis at least once a year. I just can't get over how over 80 years later it's still so completly relevant. Also the movie is just visually stunning, one plus of silent movies is that they had to rely on image so they put so much work into every shot.
Okay, well I know I'm sorta ranting, but it's really nice to find a fellow Metropolis fan.
I was also very happy to get hold of the new "nearly complete version" DVD with the restored scenes of the Yoshiwara district and the thin man ect. Maybe one day we will get to see the final fight between Joh Fredersen and Rotwang lol.
Great movie from the days before everything was done on a computer
